Public CBBC is organizing for the 8th consecutive year, awareness events events in Crete, South Aegean/Rhodes and North Aegean/ Lesvos, in Greece for World Cord Blood Day, spreading the word and educating the public on the utility of cord blood.
This year’s events include:
– In the Region of South Aegean/Rhodes: – The HQs of Region of South Aegean/Rhodes (https://www.pnai.gov.gr/) to illuminate for the 3rd year in a row, to raise awareness on cord blood donation/banking and the therapeutic properties and advances in the field.
– Joint Media outreach by the Deputy Governor of Health of the Region of South Aegean/Rhodes and Public CBBC experts
– Hand-outs, provided by Public CBBC, to be distributed by the Region of South Aegean/ Rhodes
In the Region of North Aegean/Lesvos:
– Joint Media outreach on local TV by the Deputy Governor of Health of the Region of North Aegean/Lesvos, the Obstetrician of Vostanio General Hospital and Public CBBC experts
– Live, online & Interactive session for the medical and nursing staff of Vostanio General Hospital in Lesvos, North Aegean (https://vostanio.gov.gr/) including all staff who work at the hospital and parents-to-be – in collaboration with the with the Obstetric Clinic and the scientists of the Public CBBC & the Haemopoiesis Research Lab.
– Hand-outs, provided by Public CBBC, to be distributed during the event and through-out the Vostanio General Hospital in Lesvos
In Crete:
– Live & Interactive sessions for Secondary School students – throughout the awareness week – with the scientists of the Public CBBC & the Haemopoiesis Research Lab, co-organised with the Regional Directorate of Secondary Education of Heraklion.
– Posters and hand-outs at the Medical School of Heraklion Crete aimed at medical students and staff running through-out 15-22 November 2024
– Virtual art & photography exhibition – updated with new submissions to the existing works of art – by doctors and students of the School of Medicine UoC, and Universities abroad, running through-out
